Ron Baron Urges Investors to Buy Tesla Stock
Investor Ron Baron advocated for Tesla stock purchases, citing rapid growth in Full Self-Driving adoption and Robotaxi service expansion.
Billionaire investor Ron Baron urged investors to purchase Tesla stock during an appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box, identifying the growth of Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology as the primary catalyst for the company's value. Baron noted that 11 million people now use FSD, with adoption increasing 55% year-over-year.
Tesla's Q2 2026 data supports this growth, showing active FSD subscriptions reached 1.48 million. The company has also logged more than 380,000 miles of unsupervised Robotaxi service across six cities. Baron argued that Tesla is expanding its market share as legacy automakers retreat from the electric vehicle sector.
Baron Capital currently holds $25 billion in SpaceX and approximately $5 billion in Tesla. While Baron declined to provide specifics on a potential merger between SpaceX and Tesla, he confirmed he has discussed the arguments for and against such a move with Elon Musk.
