Delta CEO Ed Bastian Denies Feud With Elon Musk
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian dismissed claims of a personal feud with Elon Musk following the airline's decision to reject Starlink for satellite internet.
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian denied having a personal feud with Elon Musk during a Friday interview with CNBC. The tension follows Delta's decision in March to select Amazon's Leo as its next-generation satellite internet provider instead of SpaceX's Starlink.
Elon Musk intensified his criticisms on X over the past two weeks, particularly after an aviation-industry account shared unverified quotes suggesting Bastian avoided working with him. Musk responded by mocking the airline's choice of provider and claiming Bastian would "lose his job over this."
Bastian dismissed the social media attacks as "nonsense," stating that he does not pay attention to the conflict. He maintained that he is a fan of Musk's work and drives a Tesla, asserting that the dispute is not personal.
