Baloch Liberation Army Kills 40 Pakistani Security Personnel
The Baloch Liberation Army claimed 25 operations killing 40 security personnel, while the Baloch Yakjehti Committee alleged state-backed extrajudicial killings of four civilians.
The Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for 25 operations across Balochistan between October 26 and November 3, resulting in the deaths of 40 Pakistani security personnel. Spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated the attacks targeted military personnel, intelligence operatives, and groups the BLA termed death squads. The operations included heavy weapons assaults on military installations in Nushki and ambushes on convoys in Washuk, Kharan, and Mastung. A major ambush in Khuzdar's Karkh area on October 26 killed over nine personnel from a 30-vehicle convoy. The BLA also targeted commercial vehicles on the Quetta-Taftan highway as part of an economic blockade.
Simultaneously, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee alleged that Pakistani security forces and state-backed death squads extrajudicially killed at least four civilians. The organization reported that the bodies of shopkeeper Elahi Baksh and driver Muneer Ahmad were dumped in the Naal region on November 2 following their enforced disappearances. Other reported deaths include 17-year-old student Reyan Ulfath, whose mutilated body was found on October 22, and Salahuddin, who was killed in a fake encounter on October 31 after disappearing in August. The committee called on the United Nations to investigate these events, characterizing them as a systematic pattern of human rights violations.
