Lenovo Unveils Fanless and Rollable Concept Laptops at IFA 2026

During the Lenovo Innovation World event at IFA 2026 in Berlin, Lenovo debuted two high-profile concept laptops: the Project AeroBlade and Project Swan.

The Project AeroBlade is a fanless 14-inch ultraportable measuring under 10mm thick and weighing approximately 1.8 pounds. It features a magnesium-aluminum chassis, an OLED display, and an Intel Lunar Lake processor. To achieve its slim profile without traditional fans, the device uses Active Flow, a solid-state cooling system developed with Frore Systems based on AirJet technology, which employs piezoelectric-reactive membranes to move air. While Lenovo claims the design allows for full-performance computing, some analysis suggests sustained cooling may be limited compared to high-TDP CPUs.

Simultaneously, the company unveiled Project Swan, a productivity-focused proof-of-concept laptop. The device features a 14-inch ThinkPad notebook display that expands horizontally to 17 inches via a keyboard button, utilizing a single-hinge setup and side flaps that roll back behind the screen. Powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, Project Swan is designed to mimic an external monitor for side-by-side multitasking.

Lenovo has not announced pricing or commercial release dates for either prototype.
