X Corp and SpaceXAI Dismiss Antitrust Claims Against Apple

X Corp and SpaceXAI moved to voluntarily dismiss with prejudice their antitrust claims against Apple Inc. in a Texas federal court on Monday. The lawsuit, filed in August 2025, alleged that Apple conspired to monopolize the smartphone and generative AI markets by exclusively integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT into Apple Intelligence features on iPhones.

While a US District Judge granted the request to dismiss the case against Apple, X Corp and SpaceXAI are continuing to pursue legal claims against OpenAI. They allege the AI developer maintains an unlawful monopoly through anti-competitive conduct. OpenAI has denied these allegations, characterizing the legal action as a "campaign of lawfare."

Parallel to these events, Apple is pursuing OpenAI in a separate trade secret theft lawsuit filed in July. Apple recently requested accelerated court discovery into OpenAI's internal communications and an unreleased consumer hardware device to prove confidential materials were stolen by a former employee. This legal friction occurs as Apple continues to integrate AI across its platforms, including paying Google approximately $1 billion annually to use Gemini for Siri.
