SpaceX Transitions Starship to Operational Deployment Phase

SpaceX is moving Starship into operational deployment to lower orbital access costs and enable new commercial markets in AI and manufacturing.

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. is transitioning its Starship vehicle from an engineering phase to operational deployment. This shift aims to reduce orbital access costs to as low as $10 per kilogram, positioning the company as a foundational platform for the broader space economy.

By leveraging scale and reusability, the company intends to create network effects that establish Starship as the primary gateway for orbital payloads. This infrastructure is expected to unlock new commercial markets, specifically in satellite communications, orbital manufacturing, and AI computing.

In response to these platform economics, WisdomTree Investments has adopted a picks-and-shovels investment strategy. As of July 24, 2026, the WisdomTree Space Economy Fund has allocated 12.6% of its portfolio to SpaceX to capitalize on the anticipated volume-driven value creation.
