Apple Hires Former Meta Executive to Lead Global Litigation
Apple Inc. hired former Meta executive Scott Tucker to lead global litigation as part of a broader legal and government affairs reorganization.
Apple Inc. has hired Scott Tucker, a former Meta deputy general counsel and litigation chief, to lead its global litigation efforts. Tucker, who previously served in a senior legal role at Morgan Stanley, reunites with Apple general counsel Jennifer Newstead, who also previously held a top legal position at Meta.
The appointment alters the company's internal reporting structure, with Heather Grenier, vice president of commercial and competition litigation, now reporting to Tucker. Simultaneously, legal executive Kyle Andeer has expanded his responsibilities to cover cybersecurity, child safety, law enforcement, and international legal matters.
These shifts are part of a wider reorganization overseen by Newstead and CEO John Ternus. The restructuring also includes the hiring of Nate Gatten, a former American Airlines executive, to lead government affairs. The changes come as Apple manages a U.S. antitrust lawsuit, a continuing dispute with Epic Games over App Store restrictions, and various suits regarding Siri and privacy. Some executives reportedly believe the company's performance in court, specifically concerning the App Store, has been suboptimal.
