Marvell Technology Invests $250 Million to Expand Indian Operations
Marvell Technology will invest $250 million over three years to double its India-based headcount and expand R&D facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Marvell Technology, Inc. announced a $250 million investment in India over the next three years to expand its technology, talent, and infrastructure capabilities. The U.S.-based chip designer intends to double its India-based headcount and will open a new wing at its Bengaluru office while expanding its existing presence in Hyderabad.
These investments target the design and development of advanced semiconductor solutions to meet AI-driven demand and support cloud and data infrastructure. Marvell currently operates teams in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad with expertise in silicon design and advanced process technologies, including 2nm development. The company now considers the region its second-largest R&D organization worldwide.
This expansion coincides with the Indian cabinet's recent approval of a 1.28 trillion rupee ($13.38 billion) expansion of a key semiconductor programme. Marvell plans to collaborate with startups, universities, and government organizations to strengthen the broader semiconductor ecosystem in the country.
