Bahrain Crown Prince Strengthens Strategic Ties With UK and Saudi Arabia

Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with British and Saudi officials to advance defense cooperation and regional security partnerships.

Over a three-day period in July 2026, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, held a series of high-level diplomatic meetings to reinforce strategic partnerships with the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.

On July 14, Prince Salman met Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren at Riffa Palace to discuss military and defense cooperation under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). The discussions focused on the role of the UK and its allies in maintaining international security and stability.

On July 16, the Crown Prince continued these engagements at Gudaibiya Palace. He met with outgoing UK Ambassador Alastair Long, where he again emphasized the C-SIPA framework and acknowledged the UK's efforts in combating Iranian aggression. In a separate meeting on the same day, Prince Salman met with Saudi Ambassador Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi to review the bilateral relationship between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

During the Saudi talks, Prince Salman credited the support of King Hamad of Bahrain and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the growth of their ties, while noting the efforts of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in pursuing shared national aspirations and regional peace.
