India and Greece Agree on Defence Industrial Roadmap

India and Greece expanded their strategic military partnership during the second Joint Working Group on Defence Cooperation held in Athens on October 15, 2026. The group, co-chaired by Joint Secretary Amit Telang and Ambassador Michel Spinellis, agreed to create an industrial roadmap focused on joint ventures, co-production, and co-development of military technology.

Prior to the working group session, Rajesh Kumar Singh, the Indian Defence Secretary, met with Greek Deputy Minister of National Defence Athanasios Davakis and Permanent Deputy Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Alexandra Papadopoulou. These high-level discussions resulted in agreements to increase cooperation in policy planning, joint staff talks, and maritime security.

Both nations emphasized their shared status as prominent maritime powers to justify the strengthening of ties in the defence industrial domain. As part of the official visit, Singh also conducted a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Syntagma Square to honor fallen soldiers.
