Samsung Schedules Galaxy S26 FE Launch for August 27
Samsung Electronics will unveil a new Galaxy S26 family member on August 27, focusing on bringing AI and camera innovations to a broader audience.
Samsung Electronics announced a Galaxy launch event for August 27, 2026, at 9 p.m. KST to introduce a new addition to the Galaxy S26 smartphone lineup. While the company has not officially named the device, industry expectations and leaks identify it as the Galaxy S26 FE (Fan Edition). The event will be streamed live via the company's website and YouTube channel.
Samsung stated the device is designed to bring core Galaxy S26 experiences, including AI and camera features, alongside the latest One UI to a more accessible price point. Leaked specifications suggest the phone will feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, an Exynos 2500 processor, and a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel main lens. Reports on battery life suggest up to 50 hours of use, while pricing estimates vary between 799 and 899 euros.
A key point of interest for the launch is whether the device will support Gemini Intelligence, an agentic AI suite developed by Google LLC. The feature requires a minimum of 12GB of RAM, an increase over the 8GB found in the previous S25 FE. Both Samsung and Google LLC have declined to confirm if the S26 FE will meet these technical requirements, which could create a functional divide between affordable models and high-end devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
