Reliance Industries Invests Rs 1 Lakh Crore in Andhra Pradesh
Anant Ambani announced a Rs 1 lakh crore investment to build compressed biogas plants and a horticulture hub in Andhra Pradesh.
Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani announced a Rs 1 lakh crore investment in Andhra Pradesh to establish compressed biogas plants. During a foundation stone-laying ceremony in Madanapalle on October 2, 2026, Ambani stated the initiative would create over 3 lakh jobs and generate approximately Rs 60,000 crore in revenue for the state over the coming decades.
As part of the investment, Reliance is backing the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub with Rs 40,000 crore. The hub intends to integrate artificial intelligence, robotics, and drones with traditional farming practices. Ambani noted that these efforts would transform farmers into energy producers, which he claimed would strengthen India's energy security and make agriculture a viable profession for rural youth.
Reliance also plans to support the Indian School of Agriculture through industry partnerships and digital capabilities. Using the Jio Krishi platform, the company will provide virtual training to farmers. The project was hosted by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, representing a state government that has approved 388 mega projects since June 2024.
