Asaduddin Owaisi Threatens Hyderabad Protests Over Alleged Voter Deletions

Asaduddin Owaisi warned of massive protests in Hyderabad after accusing the BJP of using false forms to delete Muslim voters from electoral rolls.

Member of Parliament and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi threatened large-scale protests in Hyderabad if the Election Commission of India fails to stop the alleged misuse of Form 7 applications. Speaking at the 57th Jalsa-e-Milad-un-Nabi, Owaisi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and Sangh Parivar of filing false objection forms to exclude Muslim voters during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, which he characterized as a "backdoor NRC" intended to test citizenship.

Owaisi cited specific evidence of systemic targeting, including an incident in the Musheerabad constituency where BJP booth level agent SV Balachander filed objections against approximately 30 Muslim voters. Congress party official Mohammad Baba Sharfuddin alleged that Balachander used pre-printed forms provided by the BJP party office. Additionally, Congress leaders reported finding unsigned pre-printed forms targeting Muslim voters in the Goshamahal and Bahadurpura constituencies.

Owaisi has notified the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana and District Electoral Officers of these irregularities. He warned that if the Election Commission allows the removal of genuine voters, protests larger than those at Delhi's Jantar Mantar will take place on the streets of Hyderabad.
