Israeli Settlers Launch Series of Attacks Across West Bank

A series of attacks by Israeli settlers targeted Palestinian civilians and property across the West Bank between July 27 and July 29, 2026. On July 27, attackers hurled stones at Palestinian-licensed vehicles at a roundabout near the town of Jaba’, north of Jerusalem, causing vehicle damage and driver panic.

Violence escalated on July 29 with two separate incidents. In the Abu Njeim area near Bethlehem, settlers torched a vehicle and a family home, forcing the Palestine Red Crescent Society to evacuate eight family members. Simultaneously, near the town of Beit Ula west of Hebron, settlers vandalized another vehicle and abducted two Palestinian men.

These incidents follow a reported surge in violence. The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission stated there were 3,488 attacks against Palestinians and their property during the first half of 2026. Human rights organizations and Palestinians allege that the Israel Defense Forces protect settlers or participate in these attacks, noting that such violence is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
