Rhode Island Opens Early Voting for September Elections

Early voting began in Rhode Island on Thursday, August 20, 2026, allowing voters to cast ballots for candidates within their respective parties. The voting period is scheduled to run through Tuesday, September 8, leading up to the general election day on Wednesday, September 9.

Gregg Amore, the Rhode Island Secretary of State, reported that nearly 10,000 voters have already requested mail-in ballots. The state government initiated the process to facilitate voter participation across the early voting window.
