Super Micro Projects Up to $72 Billion Annual Revenue

Super Micro Computer Inc. forecasts massive revenue growth driven by AI demand despite missing fourth-quarter revenue estimates and facing export-control legal challenges.

Super Micro Computer Inc. issued an aggressive revenue forecast for the fiscal year beginning in July, projecting between $65 billion and $72 billion. This outlook significantly exceeds the average analyst projection of $54.4 billion. For the quarter ending in September, the company expects revenue between $14.5 billion and $15.5 billion, surpassing the highest analyst estimate of $13.3 billion. Management attributed this growth to a record backlog of more than $60 billion in new orders and surging demand for AI infrastructure utilizing Nvidia Corp. chips.

In its fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 results, the company reported revenue of $11.12 billion, missing the $11.56 billion consensus estimate. However, profitability surged with adjusted earnings per share reaching $1.70, far exceeding the $0.96 expected by analysts. Net income rose to $1.2 billion, and gross margins expanded to 17.5%. Shares rose between 7% and 9% following the announcement.

Despite the financial growth, the company manages $8.8 billion in debt and several legal hurdles. US prosecutors charged co-founder Yih-Shyan Liaw in March with illegally diverting servers to China, and Taiwanese prosecutors detained two employees in June. The company continues an independent board review regarding export-control matters, though leadership has indicated they do not believe a financial restatement will be necessary.
