Qatar Receives International Condolences After Father Amir's Death

Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani accepted diplomatic condolences from Sudan and Niger following the death of Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, coordinated diplomatic responses following the death of Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. On July 21, 2026, he held a phone call with Sudan's Prime Minister, Kamil Al-Tayeb Idris, who extended condolences on behalf of the Republic of Sudan.

In a separate diplomatic engagement in Doha, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met with Bakary Yaou Sangare, Niger's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Nigeriens Abroad. During the meeting, Sangare delivered a written message of condolences from Niger's President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani.

Both the Sudanese and Nigerien delegations used these exchanges to discuss bilateral cooperation and matters of mutual interest between their respective nations and the State of Qatar.
