AdaniConneX Seeks $1.5 Billion for Data Center Expansion
AdaniConneX is negotiating $1.5 billion in offshore financing to expand data center operations as part of a larger digital infrastructure strategy in India.
AdaniConneX Pvt. is seeking $1.5 billion in offshore financing to expand its data center operations in India. The joint venture between the Adani Group and data center operator EdgeConneX is currently in discussions with several lenders, including DBS Group Holdings Ltd., First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc., Natixis SA, ING Bank NV, and Societe Generale SA.
The proposed loan is expected to have a tenor of five to seven years, although final pricing and terms have not been settled. This funding effort aligns with a broader strategy by the Adani Group to invest approximately $100 billion in data centers and digital infrastructure by 2035.
The expansion comes as India's data center market grows due to the computing requirements of cloud services and artificial intelligence. The Indian government projects that total capacity in the sector will reach nearly 8 gigawatts by 2030.
