UK Removes Tariffs on Key Armenian Agricultural Exports
The United Kingdom introduced autonomous trade measures allowing various Armenian fruits, beverages, and spices to be exported to the UK tariff-free.
The Government of the United Kingdom has implemented autonomous trade measures that allow a specific range of products from Armenia to enter the UK without customs duties. This decision aims to expand export opportunities and deepen bilateral economic cooperation between the two nations.
The zero-tariff status applies to a diverse list of goods, including fresh fruits such as apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, grapes, and apricots. The measures also cover dried raisins, ginger, saffron, and other herbs and spices, as well as alcoholic beverages including brandy, cognac, and beer.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia stated that these trade measures align with the existing Armenia–United Kingdom Strategic Partnership. The move is intended to strengthen the economic ties between the two countries by reducing trade barriers for Armenian producers.
