Kimberly-Clark Completes $49 Billion Acquisition of Kenvue
Kimberly-Clark acquired Kenvue for nearly $49 billion to expand its health and wellness portfolio and accelerate e-commerce growth.
Kimberly-Clark completed its acquisition of Kenvue on November 2, 2026, in a deal valuing the maker of Tylenol, Band-Aid, and Listerine at nearly $49 billion, including debt. The company intends to use its consumer packaged goods expertise to drive Kenvue's growth, specifically within e-commerce channels.
Financial projections for the merger include $1.9 billion in cost reductions over the next three years and $500 million in incremental profits. However, the acquisition introduces significant legal liabilities, as Kimberly-Clark inherits more than 500 lawsuits claiming that prenatal Tylenol use contributes to ADHD or autism.
CEO Michael Hsu defended the safety of the medication, stating the company stands on the "right side of science." Beyond litigation, the company is currently managing higher input costs resulting from the Iran war while attempting to maintain price discipline for middle- and lower-income consumers.
