Aldi Receives Planning Approval for New Boyle Store

Aldi received final planning permission from An Coimisiún Pleanála to develop a new discount foodstore and off-licence on Patrick Street in Boyle, Roscommon. The decision upholds an initial approval granted by the Roscommon County Council in January, which had been subject to 36 conditions.

The project was delayed by an appeal filed by an individual from County Offaly. However, the planning regulator ultimately cleared the development following a petition signed by hundreds of local residents in support of the store. The mixed-use project involves the demolition of derelict structures and the refurbishment of a terrace to create five residential dwellings.

Aldi expects the new store to create up to 30 permanent jobs. The company stated that the approval is an important milestone that reflects its commitment to investing in communities across Ireland.
