Jamie Oliver Pays £1.5 Million Dividend Amid Falling Profits
Jamie and Jools Oliver paid themselves a £1.5 million dividend despite pre-tax profits at Jamie Oliver Holdings dropping to £1.25 million.
Jamie Oliver and Jools Oliver paid themselves a £1.5 million dividend following a decline in pre-tax profits at Jamie Oliver Holdings. Profits fell to £1.25 million, down from £2.4 million the previous year, although total sales remained steady at £28.4 million.
The profit drop resulted from £1.46 million in exceptional costs tied to a business restructure that cut approximately 20 media team jobs and pre-opening expenses for a new London cookery school. Additionally, a nearly £2 million decline in royalties, licensing, and endorsement income occurred after a major deal with Tesco ended.
Growth in franchises, owned restaurants, and cookery schools offset some losses. Recent expansions include the opening of Jamie Oliver Catherine Street and a new Jamie’s Italian in Leicester Square, which was backed by Brava Hospitality Group. The group intends to open 10 new franchise restaurants globally this year, with recent launches in Bahrain, India, and Abu Dhabi.
