Turkish Exports to Africa Reach $13.3 Billion in 2026

Türkiye increased exports to Africa by 12.6% to $13.3 billion through the first seven months of 2026, driven by expanded logistics and commercial diplomacy.

Turkish exports to Africa reached $13.3 billion during the first seven months of 2026, marking a 12.6% increase over the same period in 2025. Growth accelerated in July, with exports rising 16.3% to $2.3 billion. While shipments to Morocco and Algeria declined in July, Türkiye saw significant gains in trade with Egypt, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Osman Aksoy, chair of the Foreign Economic Relations Board’s Türkiye-Africa Business Council, attributed the surge to long-term commercial diplomacy based on a "win-win" approach. The growth was supported by expanded logistics networks, including Turkish Airlines' flights to over 60 destinations, and large-scale construction projects involving ports, roads, and airports. Key contributing sectors included machinery, electronics, automotive, and textiles.

To ensure sustainable growth, Aksoy urged Turkish firms to leverage the African Continental Free Trade Area through joint ventures, flexible financing, and local production. He specifically highlighted the need to address national requirements, such as the market scale of Nigeria and the energy needs of Libya.
