HII received a $56 million U.S. Navy contract to provide shipbuilding engineering and design for the AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine partnership.

HII received a $56 million contract from the United States Navy to provide shipbuilding engineering and design work for the AUKUS trilateral partnership. The contract, awarded to the company's Newport News Shipbuilding division, includes an option to increase the total value to $91 million.

Under the agreement, HII will provide Foreign Military Sales support to Australia and the United Kingdom. The work focuses on digital transformation, supply chain management, workforce development, and technology insertion. HII engineers will specifically support the design of the SSN-AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine.

This award follows a series of AUKUS-related engagements for the contractor. Previous work includes the Australian Submarine Supplier Qualification Program and a Nuclear Capability Advisory Services contract awarded by the Australian Submarine Agency in December 2025.
