JPMorgan Leads $5 Billion Debt Package for Volta AI Data Centers
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is organizing a $5 billion debt package for Volta Infra Holdings to fund the construction of AI data centers.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. is leading the organization of a $5 billion debt package to fund the construction of AI data centers for Volta Infra Holdings Ltd. The financing supports Volta's goal of providing technology firms and AI labs with access to high-cost AI chips.
Founded by former Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. executives Ricard Boada and Sofia Gumuzio, Volta was recently valued at $2.4 billion following $300 million in venture funding. The company has already secured a six-year, $10 billion agreement to provide computing capacity to Anthropic PBC. This capacity will be delivered via a data center in Norway managed through a partnership with Bitdeer Technologies Group.
This debt package is part of a larger industry trend where companies have borrowed roughly $600 billion for AI investments since last year. Total buildout costs for AI infrastructure are projected to reach nearly $5 trillion by 2030.
