Afghan Forces Strike Pakistani Military Base After Drone Attacks
Afghan forces launched retaliatory strikes against a Pakistani military base and outposts following four Pakistani drone attacks in Paktika province.
The Ministry of Defence of Afghanistan launched retaliatory strikes against a Pakistani military base and several outposts on Wednesday. The operation followed four drone strikes conducted by the Military of Pakistan on Tuesday, which targeted security installations and a border commissariat in Paktika province.
Afghan officials reported that their counter-strikes inflicted substantial damage on military infrastructure and caused casualties among Pakistani personnel. The Ministry of Defence of Afghanistan stated there were no Afghan casualties during the exchange.
This escalation follows a period of heightened tension between the two nations that began with border fighting in February.
