Dino Melaye and Isaac Fayose Accuse APC of Billion-Naira Vote Buying
Former lawmaker Dino Melaye and Isaac Fayose allege the All Progressives Congress spent up to N70 billion to buy votes in the Osun State election.
Former federal lawmaker Dino Melaye and Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, have accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of spending billions of naira to influence the recent Osun State governorship election. Melaye alleged on Facebook that the party spent N70 billion to procure votes and engage in rigging, though he suggested many voters collected the funds and then voted their conscience.
In a News Central Television interview, Isaac Fayose claimed the APC spent approximately N60 billion on vote-buying, asserting that the funds were sourced from taxpayers. He further accused police forces of using armored vehicles to snatch ballot boxes during the process.
Both critics targeted government institutions for their perceived inaction. Fayose criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for failing to prevent vote trading and financial irregularities during the electoral cycle.
