VCK Urges Tamil Nadu CM to Demand State Autonomy
Thol Thirumavalavan submitted resolutions for state autonomy to Chief Minister Joseph Vijay while the Assembly debated a controversial office relocation tender.
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol Thirumavalavan met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay to submit resolutions passed during the Tamil Nationalism Conference. Thirumavalavan urged the Chief Minister to insist that the Union government grant greater state autonomy rights to Tamil Nadu. He affirmed that the VCK stands with the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government and noted that discussions regarding a new political alliance would take place following the current Assembly session.
Simultaneously, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly faced a dispute over a 5.54-crore tender for the relocation of the Chief Minister's Office. DMK MLA EV Velu alleged irregularities concerning the pricing and publication of the tender. Public Works Minister Aadhav Arjuna rejected these claims, asserting that the tender process had not yet been completed. Arjuna promised to release a White Paper on tendering practices to ensure transparency and provide a full explanation regarding the allegations.
