Microsoft Delists Boom Boom Rocket and May Remove Licensed Games

Microsoft removed Boom Boom Rocket from the Xbox Store and may soon delist Funko Fusion and Star Trek Legends due to expired licensing contracts.

Microsoft has delisted the Xbox-exclusive digital rhythm game Boom Boom Rocket from the Xbox Store without prior warning. The title, originally released in 2007 by Bizarre Creations and Electronic Arts, remains playable for current owners through backward compatibility on Xbox Series X and S, but is no longer available for new purchases.

Industry speculation suggests Microsoft may also remove Funko Fusion and Star Trek Legends from the store during July 2026. Indicators include a 95% price discount for Funko Fusion and the recent removal of Star Trek Legends from the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store. These moves are presumed to be the result of expired licensing agreements.

Microsoft has not officially commented on the potential removals. The commercial failure of Funko Fusion previously led to layoffs at its developer, 10:10 Games.
