J & J Snack Foods Corp. reported a 6.2% decrease in net sales to $426.0 million for the third quarter ended June 27, 2026. The company attributed the decline to expected sales reductions in its bakery business and lower machine and service sales within its Frozen Beverage segment. Net earnings fell 20.1% to $35.3 million during the period.
Despite the sales drop and an approximate $4.7 million increase in freight and fuel costs, the company achieved an Adjusted EBITDA of $67.4 million and Adjusted earnings per diluted share of $1.96. CEO Dan Fachner noted that savings from plant consolidation are exceeding expectations, prompting the company to raise its annualized plant savings target to at least $20 million.
During the quarter, the corporation repurchased 135,852 shares of common stock for $10 million. Fachner indicated that the company expects the sales environment to improve in the fourth quarter as the pipeline for core products fills and recent headwinds diminish.
