India Transfers All Conventional Missile Technologies to Domestic Industry

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved the transfer of all DRDO conventional missile technologies to Indian industry to increase self-reliance and reduce import dependence.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved the transfer of all conventional missile system technologies developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation to the Indian defence industry for domestic production. The move supports the Aatmanirbharta vision to strengthen the domestic industrial base and reduce reliance on foreign imports.

By transitioning missile development from research to industrial-scale manufacturing, the government intends to integrate Indian technology partners and MSMEs into the supply chain. The Ministry of Defence stated that this transfer marks an important milestone in promoting greater participation of Indian industries in the defence ecosystem.

This initiative follows a recent notification from the Department of Defence Production regarding a sixth positive indigenisation list. This list includes 405 strategically important items, such as warships, missile systems, and defence electronics, with an estimated business potential of 3,070 crore rupees.
