Saudi-led Coalition Reaffirms Military Support for Yemeni Government
The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen pledged continued operational support for the Yemeni Armed Forces to end the Houthi coup and restore state institutions.
The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen reaffirmed its full operational support for the Yemeni Armed Forces and the internationally recognized government. This commitment aims to end the Houthi coup and restore national institutions to the legitimate state leadership.
Major General Turki Al-Malki, the coalition's official spokesperson, accused Houthi militias of severe violations against civilians, including starvation, forced displacement, and the recruitment of child soldiers. Al-Malki stated that Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabian cities and attempts to target vessels in the southern Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb Strait necessitate continued defensive measures.
Al-Malki asserted that Saudi Arabia maintains an inherent right to defend its sovereignty and national security to protect its citizens and regional stability. These developments occur as Houthi military actions continue amid a broader conflict in West Asia, creating ongoing risks for global trade and international maritime navigation.
