Google Cloud Launches Gemini Enterprise for Legal AI Platform
Google Cloud released Gemini Enterprise for Legal, an agentic AI solution for complex legal workflows adopted by several global law firms.
Google Cloud launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal, a specialized agentic AI platform designed to automate complex legal workflows. Moving beyond standard chatbots, the system employs autonomous agents to handle contract reviews, regulatory horizon scanning, and Data Subject Access Request fulfillment. The platform integrates with industry-standard tools including iManage, NetDocuments, and RelativityOne, and utilizes a partner ecosystem that includes Deloitte and Accenture.
To address industry concerns regarding confidentiality, the system uses secure connectors that maintain a firm's existing ethical walls. Google guarantees that customer data is not used to train its foundational models. Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, stated that agentic AI allows legal professionals to research historical case law and automate mundane tasks to provide more value to clients.
The platform debuted in preview with a group of launch customers. Cleary Gottlieb, Freshfields, Weil, and Williams & Connolly collaborated on the development and implementation of the tool. These firms intend to use the technology to streamline litigator workflows and increase operational efficiencies while helping shape the platform's capabilities based on the requirements of sophisticated legal practice.
