Kia India Launches Syros EV Compact SUV with 526 km Range

Kia India unveiled the Syros EV compact SUV with two battery options and ownership programs to compete against Tata and Mahindra electric models.

Kia India unveiled the Syros EV on July 15, 2026, positioning the compact electric SUV as its smallest all-electric model for the Indian market. The vehicle is designed to compete directly with the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, surpassing both in height at 1,670mm and in charging capabilities, supporting up to 100kW DC fast charging.

The SUV offers two battery configurations: a 42 kWh pack with a 443 km range and a 51.4 kWh pack delivering an ARAI-certified range of 526 km. The larger variant produces 171 PS (169 bhp) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. Nationwide pre-bookings have opened for ₹25,000, with official pricing expected later in July.

To support the rollout, the company equipped 129 dealerships with DC fast chargers and established more than 275 EV-ready workshops. To lower entry barriers for Indian families, the manufacturer introduced a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, an Assured Buyback program, and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option.
