Binod Chaudhary Urges Global Aid for Nepal Flood Recovery

Binod Chaudhary called for a coordinated international effort to rebuild Nepal after flash floods destroyed villages and critical infrastructure.

Binod Chaudhary, a billionaire businessman and former member of parliament, called for a coordinated international effort to rebuild Nepal following devastating flash floods. The disaster destroyed entire villages, collapsed more than 30 bridges, and disrupted over 500 megawatts of power generation.

Chaudhary urged international partners, specifically the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, to provide financial resources and engineering expertise. He emphasized that reconstruction must prioritize long-term resilience over simple repairs, warning that the scale of the disaster was unprecedented.

While the governments of India and Sri Lanka have already provided relief supplies and offered assistance, Chaudhary stated that the total cost of recovery would be immense. His own foundation has started identifying sites for health facilities, schools, and transitional shelters to support displaced populations.
