Thousands Attend Mass Funeral for 112 Abu Sharia Family Members

Thousands of Palestinians gathered in Gaza City on August 4, 2026, for the funeral of 112 members of the Abu Sharia al-Hassaina family. The group, which included 44 children, 37 women, and seven people with disabilities, was recovered by civil defense teams from the rubble of homes destroyed by Israeli forces.

Family representatives identified the deadliest strike as occurring in the al-Sabra neighborhood on November 22 or 23, 2023. The Abu Sharia family reports that 308 of its members have been killed since October 2023, with 267 buried and 41 still missing.

Medical sources state that Israeli forces have killed over 73,000 Palestinians since October 7, 2023, and have eliminated 2,276 entire families.
