Global Cloud Spending Hits $102.6 Billion in Q3 2025

Global spending on cloud infrastructure services reached $102.6 billion in Q3 2025, marking a 25% year-on-year increase. According to research from Omdia, this growth reflects a transition where enterprises are moving beyond AI experimentation toward the scaled production deployment of AI agents.

Amazon Web Services leads the market with a 32% share and 20% growth, supported by a $200 billion backlog. Microsoft Azure holds a 22% market share and achieved 40% growth, bolstered by a renewed partnership with OpenAI and the launch of the Microsoft Agent Framework. Google Cloud maintains an 11% market share with 36% growth, reporting a $157.7 billion backlog as of September 30.

These three hyperscalers collectively account for 66% of global spending. To meet enterprise demand, providers are shifting strategies toward platform-level capabilities and multi-model support. Key initiatives include the launch of the Microsoft Agent Framework and AWS AgentCore, which aim to provide the standardized building blocks necessary for business continuity and compliance in production environments.
