Apple is facing reports of a software bug in iOS 27 that causes iPhones to enter a state of temporary unresponsiveness. The glitch, described as a soft-lock, is triggered when a user pulls down from the top-left corner to open the Notification Center and immediately pulls down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center.
Once the bug is activated, the device becomes largely unresponsive. Users cannot swipe between home screens, UI elements fail to register taps, and the power-off slider does not function. The issue has begun spreading on social media as a prank to freeze other users' devices.
The bug persists in both the stable iOS 27.0 release and the iOS 27.2 beta. While the state renders the phone unusable for standard interaction, it is harmless and can be resolved by performing a force reboot of the device.
