Regeneron Extends Ebola Treatment Supply Deal Through 2031
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals extended its agreement with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to supply Inmazeb Ebola treatments through 2031.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. extended its procurement agreement with the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority to supply additional doses of Inmazeb, an Ebola treatment, through 2031. The extension adds approximately $270 million in value to a supply arrangement that originally began in 2020.
Inmazeb is a three-antibody cocktail used for infections caused by Orthoebolavirus zairense and was the first Ebola treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Beyond the supply extension, the company is evaluating maftivimab, a component of Inmazeb, as a potential treatment for the Bundibugyo virus. Maftivimab is being added to the PARTNERS clinical trial in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This study is sponsored by the World Health Organization and coordinated by the Pandemic Sciences Institute at the University of Oxford and the Institut National de Recherche Biomédicale.
