Israeli Forces Kill Hezbollah Terrorist in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces killed a Hezbollah member during a building search in Bint Jbeil, Lebanon, while uncovering a separate weapons cache in Tallouseh.
The Israel Defense Forces killed a Hezbollah member during a close-range encounter in Bint Jbeil, Southern Lebanon, on Tuesday. Soldiers from the 679th Yiftah Brigade were searching a building that had been the site of a previous clash on the preceding Thursday when a terrorist opened fire. The military initially reported that a female fighter from the Oketz canine unit killed the militant, though an Oketz combat dog was killed in the process.
Contradicting the official report, soldiers involved in the clash claimed the Oketz fighter did not kill the terrorist. These accounts suggest one Hezbollah member surrendered and was taken alive, while a second was shot by a brigade commander and another fighter. The military attributed any inaccuracies in initial reports to human error.
In a separate operation in the village of Tallousa, Israeli troops discovered a Hezbollah weapons cache containing missiles, RPG launchers, and explosive devices hidden inside a civilian home. These engagements are part of a broader campaign to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure following the resumption of hostilities on March 2. The military stated it will continue to operate to remove threats to its troops and prevent Hezbollah from harming Israeli civilians.
