Qatar Coordinates with Saudi Arabia and Egypt on U.S.-Iran Pact
Qatar's Prime Minister held diplomatic calls with Saudi Arabia and Egypt to support a new memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, conducted a series of diplomatic consultations with regional partners to address the security implications of a memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran.
During a phone call with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Al Thani discussed bilateral relations and regional stability. Both officials emphasized the necessity of preventing unjustified attacks and ensuring the freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar's full support for the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran to resolve outstanding issues through peaceful means.
Al Thani subsequently held a call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to further coordinate diplomatic efforts. The conversation mirrored the priorities discussed with Saudi Arabia, focusing on enhancing international security and the use of peaceful dialogue to stabilize the region following the U.S.-Iran agreement.
