BJP Workers Allegedly Attack CJP Volunteers in Rajasthan

Citizens' Justice Party volunteers were allegedly assaulted by BJP workers while inspecting a dilapidated government school in Rajasthan's Jaipur district.

Volunteers from the Citizens' Justice Party (CJP), including co-convener Ashutosh Ranka, were physically assaulted and their vehicles vandalized on Friday in Rampura Kanwarpura village, Jaipur district. The attack occurred during the CJP's "School Thik Karo" campaign, which aims to document poor rural education infrastructure. The team was inspecting a government primary school that had been declared unsafe and was operating out of a cattle enclosure.

Ashutosh Ranka and CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that "goons of BJP" orchestrated the violence, including stone-pelting, while Rajasthan Police acted as mute spectators. Ranka specifically claimed the attack was carried out at the behest of Education Minister Madan Dilawar to hide the poor state of education. He threatened a statewide agitation and demanded Dilawar's resignation if the perpetrators are not arrested within 48 hours.

Conversely, some local villagers denied the political narrative, stating they opposed the CJP due to its rhetoric regarding the country and Lord Ram. They claimed the government had already sanctioned 12 lakh rupees for school repairs. The incident follows recent directives from the Rajasthan state education department restricting public and media entry into government schools.

Opposition leaders, including Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, condemned the violence. Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully accused the ruling government of using force to conceal infrastructure deficiencies.
