Democrats and Republicans Split Key Florida House Seats
Florida House election results show Democratic wins in several districts despite Republican-led redistricting, while Jim Schwartzel secures a key open seat for Republicans.
Election results from November 4, 2026, show a split outcome for U.S. House seats across Florida. Democratic candidates secured several victories, including Jared Moskowitz in District 25 with approximately 51.5 percent of the vote and Kathy Castor in District 14 with 51.2 percent. Pia Dandiya also won District 22 with 51.9 percent of the vote. These wins occurred despite a redistricting effort led by Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Legislature designed to favor Republican candidates, specifically impacting the seats held by Moskowitz and Castor.
In other races, Debbie Wasserman Schultz won reelection to represent Florida's 20th Congressional District, defeating Republican Brent Andersen to secure her 12th term. Meanwhile, Republican Jim Schwartzel, a conservative media executive, won Florida's 19th District by defeating Democrat Victor Arias. Schwartzel entered the race with a significant fundraising advantage of $2.8 million compared to Arias's total of less than $70,000.
In the 13th Congressional District, Anna Paulina Luna maintained a narrow lead over Lila Gray as results continued to come in.
