AMP CEO Uses AI Playbooks to Scale Startup
Rachel Woods implemented an AI playbooking system at AMP to automate business operations and scale the company without increasing headcount.
CEO and cofounder Rachel Woods has implemented a playbooking system at her eight-person AI startup, AMP, to scale operations without adding new staff. The system functions by decomposing complex business problems into small, repeatable tasks with detailed logic and decision-making steps that AI agents then execute.
This operational model allows AMP to manage sales, marketing, customer support, and operations without increasing headcount. Woods advocates for a philosophy of owning the playbook while renting the technology, asserting that the underlying logic is more critical than the specific AI tool employed. She noted that without these AI playbooks, she would need to double her team size.
To support these background operations, the company spent 8,510 dollars on Claude Code in September, alongside standard subscriptions for ChatGPT and Claude.
