Panera Bread Moves Headquarters to Weston Massachusetts

Panera Bread is relocating its corporate headquarters from St. Louis to Weston, Massachusetts, as part of a business revitalization strategy to drive growth.

Panera Bread will relocate its corporate headquarters from the St. Louis area to Weston, Massachusetts, with the new offices expected to open in July 2027. CEO Paul Carbone announced the move in an internal memo on July 27, 2026, describing the relocation as a key component of the company's Panera RISE transformation strategy.

The Panera RISE initiative aims to reclaim leadership in the fast-casual industry and target annual sales of $7 billion through a menu refresh, guest service improvements, and network expansion. Carbone stated the move is intended to foster deeper collaboration and faster decision-making. While the company will maintain a support center in St. Louis, many support center and remote roles will transfer to the new Massachusetts site.

The relocation follows a period of operational challenges, including declining food quality and high costs, and comes as the company pauses plans for an initial public offering. Panera Bread is currently owned by the private equity firm JAB Holding Company. Local officials, including the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, stated they were not notified that the company was evaluating a move.
