Essex Diesel Prices Near 2 Pounds Per Litre
Fuel prices in south Essex have reached three-year highs as a war between the United States and Iran disrupts global oil supplies.
Diesel prices in south Essex are approaching 2 pounds per litre, with an Esso garage on the A127 near Little Warley charging 199.9p. The Royal Automobile Club reports that petrol prices have reached their highest levels since September 2022, with unleaded averaging 167.17p and diesel averaging 188.63p per litre.
This price surge is driven by rising oil costs and supply disruptions stemming from a six-month war between the United States and Iran. Recent attacks in the Middle East have further increased investor doubt regarding the possibility of a peace deal this year.
While prices are rising across the region, some of the lowest rates are currently available at Costco in Thurrock, where unleaded is 159.9p and diesel is 179.9p.
