Ishaq Dar Advocates Gaza Peace Plan at UN General Assembly

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar advocated for the full implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803 during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Speaking to the Group of Eight Arab-Islamic Countries, Dar condemned ceasefire violations in Gaza and illegal settlements in the West Bank, reaffirming support for a sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

Dar coordinated regional peace efforts through the R-4 framework, meeting with the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. He further expanded diplomatic engagement through bilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Kuwait and Iran, where both parties emphasized the necessity of dialogue and diplomacy to ensure regional stability.

In separate discussions with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, Dar focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, health, and the automobile sector. The two officials specifically addressed the impact of Middle East tensions on global energy supplies and supply chains, while expressing hope for the implementation of the Islamabad MoU.
