Einride Orders 500 Tesla Semis to Expand North American Fleet
Einride is deploying 500 Tesla Semi trucks across North American freight corridors to triple its fleet and support customers like Amazon.
Swedish freight technology company Einride AB announced a deal to deploy 500 Tesla Semi trucks across North American freight corridors over the next 24 months. Starting in September, the electric trucks will be integrated into the company's Saga AI fleet management platform to support customers including Amazon. The deployment, funded through third-party financing, will triple the Einride fleet to approximately 750 vehicles.
Einride intends to use this expansion to convert an estimated $800 million in potential long-term annual recurring revenue into actual revenue. Following the announcement and a forecast that revenue growth will more than double in the second half of 2026, company shares rose 17 percent in premarket trading. The trucks will primarily operate in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, and Georgia.
CEO Roozbeh Charli stated that working with Tesla to bring the trucks into operations at scale demonstrates how the technology is maturing from promise to daily operations. He noted that the company is reaching a point where it can access the necessary hardware and focus on using software to deploy that hardware efficiently across its network.
