CAMCA Regional Forum Promotes Central Asia-Caucasus Economic Integration

Azerbaijan hosted the CAMCA Regional Forum in Baku to advance the Middle Corridor and transition Central Asian nations from landlocked to land-linked economies.

The CAMCA Regional Forum convened in Baku on October 1 to address regional connectivity and economic integration across Central Asia, Mongolia, the Caucasus, and Afghanistan. Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, advocated for the Middle Corridor as a critical link between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and global markets. He argued that regional integration must evolve beyond the movement of goods to include joint production and the creation of regional value chains.

Sadiq Safoev of Uzbekistan's Senate highlighted the potential for the region to transition from being landlocked to land-linked amid shifting global geopolitical dynamics. The forum also served as a platform for organizational growth, with the CAMCA network expanding to 350 members.

Additional developments included the launch of the CAMCA Talking magazine and the announcement of a future CAMCA TV channel. The group scheduled the next regional forum to take place in Uzbekistan in June 2027.
