Saudi Arabia Launches Ceer Electric Exobot Sedan and SUV

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud launched the Exobot sedan and SUV on September 21, 2026, marking the debut of Ceer, Saudi Arabia's first national automotive brand. The flagship electric vehicles feature a wedge-shaped design with gullwing doors, yoke steering, and 8K curved displays. Top-spec versions deliver 1,111 horsepower and a 0-62 mph acceleration of 2.1 seconds for the sedan, while a limited-run First Edition will launch with 850 horsepower.

Produced at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City, the vehicles utilize an 800-volt platform and a 112 kWh battery. The sedan offers a range of 670km (416 miles), while the SUV provides 560km (348 miles). To combat extreme heat, the cars include a specialized reflective windscreen. The design was led by former McLaren design director Rob Melville, with CEO James DeLuca noting that the board demanded a unique aesthetic rather than following global trends.

Ceer is a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, incorporating technology from Hyundai Transys and drive units from Rimac. The company plans to release seven models over the next five years, eventually expanding the lineup to include plug-in hybrids and combustion-engine models. Sales are scheduled to begin in Saudi Arabia in early 2027, with regional expansion planned through 2034. The initiative aims to localize 45 percent of materials and contribute over $8 billion to the national GDP by 2034.
